The Stud is the creation of Sara Pell. It was started in England in 1991 and is now located in the Dordogne, France. It is situated in 32 hectares (70 acres) of prime Perigord Noir land where the horses benefit from a wonderful natural environment in an area famous for wild mushrooms and sweet chestnuts.
This has become something of an attraction in the Dordogne and is a much admired by local people who find every excuse to call in and visit the horses. As each foal is put out to grass on day two or three, the new "poulain" is the talk of the village and results in a wave of callers.

Elevage Pell is a properly registered business complying with appropriate national and local regulations . It offers apprenticeships and work experience to young people under a number of Government schemes.
