| |
There have been found in caves in the Dordgone SW France, and the North of Spain Various Prehistoric paintings which may lead us to believe that the use of the horse in domestic life may have been possible earlier than we originally thought.
In the NE Spain there can be found cave paintings which seem to show horses with rope style halters on their heads, these paintings are thought to date back to around 5,000BC

Carthusian :
Over the centuries the Carthusian Monks guarded their prestigous Carthusian lines with pride and fierocity, often hiding the horses in order to protect the valuble bloodlines,
As church properties were disolved ,the horses were sold to private owners,
Many of these carthusian horses were also wiped out during the time of the Peninsular wars during the 1800
The lines of the purest Carthusian horses carried on thanks to the Terry family ,often these horses are reffered to as ''Terrys''
